Where is Dallas Brooks Scout Park?
The Park is at the end of Harpfield Road, Upper Beaconsfield.
How big is the Park?
150 acres, 60 hectares
Is the road suitable for standard cars?
The road to the front gate of the Park is unmade (not sealed) but is suitable for standard non-FWD vehicles. The access road can be very dusty in the summer so please slow down to keep the dust down. The access road can be wet and slippery in the winter so please slow down to reduce cutting up the road.
The internal roads vary in quality. The first section of road is gravel and well graded. Access to both halls is suitable for standard non-FWD vehicles. Beyond Hall 2, parts of the road is affected by erosion. We advise care.
Vehicle access
Vehicle access past the front gate is by key only. We ask that booked groups keep the front gate locked during their stay. This is particularly important when groups with children and youth are using the Park.
Facilities at Dallas Brooks Scout Park
Buildings There are two Brick Halls at the Park. Each hall has a concrete floor, fireplace, sink and mains water. At each hall there are fully plumbed male and female toilets and shower facilities. There is no mains electricity at either hall. Your generator can be connected to lighting at both halls. There is plentiful fallen timber around the site for use by hirers. We are not able to provide pre-cut and stacked timber for your use. If you would like to visit the site and pre-cut and stack your timber before your group arrives, this can usually be accommodated.
“The Picnic Ground” This area has moderate shade. It has good vehicle access, an outdoor fireplace and outdoor wooden tables and benches.
Campsites There is approximately 150 acres at Dallas Brooks Scout Park. Some areas are flat, some are sloped. Access to mains water is excellent but not site-wide. Some users like to camp well away from the Halls, some prefer to be close. The choice is yours.
Activities Planning and equipment for activities is the responsibility of the User. There are areas of open ground and well as dense bush. There is a gully with a creek or hill climbs. There are defined roadways and less defined walking tracks. The property is completely fenced and gated. The adjoining properties are farmland and well defined. The night sky is dark with limited interference from urban lighting.

Hi. I was wondering if you open yet for day trips?
Also, do you allow prospecting on the land and the creek?
I do not leave any holes nor disturb any native flora. Any rubbish I find, I remove from the land and place in my own personal rubbish bins.
Thank you.
Joe
Hi Joe. The Park is available for people living locally for walking and cycling. We would need more detail about your prospecting in order to make a decision. Please use our Contact Page. Thanks.
Hi,
Am I able to walk my dog on the trails? I live locally. Thanks
Hi Billie, Locals are welcome to walk their dogs in Dallas Brooks Park. We ask that keep a bit clear of anyone, especially children, who are camping in the park. Enjoy.
G’day mate. We are a group of 4 adults, 3 teens and a preteen from Berwick planning to enjoy a hike in the Dallas Brooks Park 2pm-4pm tomorrow (Friday 27/9/24). Just us adults hiked here once several years ago before Covid happened. I just discovered about this website from your google review and thought it’ll be better if I asked first if it is ok for us to visit. Hope to hear from you. Thank you.
Hi Alex, Locals are welcome to hike and walk the Park. Please be mindful of the campers who are booked into the Park. Enjoy.
